The Start
Take a look at these Accoya Color Grey tops in downtown Victoria, a project which was recently completed in collaboration with the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority and Canadian Bavarian. These stunning new surfaces have been installed around the popular tenant restaurant, Red Fish Blue Fish, enhancing the outdoor eating area with both beauty and functionality.
The Project
The Greater Victoria Harbour Authority oversees the dock space around the Red Fish Blue Fish restaurant and had been facing issues with the existing black composite tops. Over time, the surfaces had begun to warp and fade, and they became uncomfortably hot to the touch during the summer months. It was clear that a more durable and heat-resistant solution was needed.
The Solution
After consulting with the Harbour Authority, Accoya Color Grey was the natural choice to be used in the project. This innovative material, known for its exceptional durability and aesthetic appeal, was the perfect choice for this high-traffic, outdoor location. Working with Canadian Bavarian, the 5/4 Accoya Color Grey boards were width-laminated into 170 linear feet of solid 16″ wide countertops. To ensure easy maintenance and a long-lasting finish, the project was treated with outdoor butcher block oil, making them easy to wipe clean.
The Result
The new Accoya Grey tops look absolutely beautiful in their prominent waterfront location. Not only do they enhance the visual appeal of the area, but they also provide a cool and comfortable surface for patrons to enjoy their meals on during the summer months. This unique application demonstrates the versatility and reliability of Accoya Color Grey, a material that can be used for many different applications.
Accoya Color Grey comes with the confidence and warranty which guarantees these new tops will serve the community well for years to come. If you’re visiting downtown Victoria, be sure to check out the new installation and experience the beauty and practicality of Accoya Grey firsthand!
