The Franz Valley residence is a contemporary weekend hideaway located in the Mayacamas Mountains between Sonoma and Napa. Signum Architecture designed this home and Fairweather & Associates built it in 2020. The striking exterior includes Accoya shou sugi ban siding, concrete, stained cedar, and aluminum framing to contrast all the glass. This five-bedroom hub’s interior space, designed by Alison Damonte, creates a cozy and open atmosphere all at once.
Delta Millworks, an Accoya approved manufacturer, prepared the Accoya shou sugi ban siding for this project. This traditional charred Accoya wood finish was not only chosen for style, but also because it resists insects. It is pulled into the interior dining area of the home to connect with the exterior.
