Homeowners of this newly built Auckland property have lived on the site for the past 27 years. They cherish the location and the outstanding sea views across Murray’s Bay so much that instead of moving house they just rebuild. This is the third property to have stood on this plot since they’ve owned it and this time they have chosen to incorporate Accoya wood.
The desired style and design of the property was known before the build began. The homeowners wanted a striking black home and with such close proximity to the sea, their architect David Giles from ARCreate felt Accoya was the natural and ideal choice. The exceptional stability of Accoya means it moves far less compared with other wood species, therefore coatings remain in place for longer and require minimal maintenance.
