The Backcountry retail location in downtown Seattle chose Accoya for the exterior façade for this project because of its stability. The storefront used 1,000 sq ft of Accoya Sand by Pioneer Millworks as its exterior façade to contrast to the black metal panels. Pre-finished Accoya in Sand is also used as a slat-wall exterior installation;

The front of the store used T&G planks, the logo wall on the side of the store used 2×4 vertical slats. All was finished with a water-based poly sealer.

The design of the logo slat wall required absolute stability in order to achieve the look the client was going for. Combined with the location and climate of the project, Accoya was at the top of the list. The logo wall aspect of this project could not be done with any traditional wood due to the unique circumstances of the design.
