reSAWN timber has provided the exterior cladding for a facelift of Broadway Market in Baltimore, Maryland. Featuring Japanese style Shou Sugi Ban charred Accoya tongue and groove, the market has a stunning sleek, black aesthetic, providing a beautiful façade extending the legacy of the building which originates from 1786.
One of only 6 traditional local markets remaining within the city of Baltimore, Broadway Market is one of the oldest buildings, predating the mayor’s office. The cladding upgrade is an important step in preserving the history of the famous city.
This project was designed by architectural firm PI.KL a full service architecture design studio based in Baltimore.
