The University Hospital Saint Luc located in Woluwe in Belgium opted for Accoya cladding for the construction of a new wing and a bicycle parking facility.
Jean Pierre Noël, Managing Director of Hout van Steenberge, distributor of Accoya wood in Belgium stated that the architectural firm Modulo Architects chose Accoya for two reasons. The guarantee of 50 years above ground and 25 years in ground and the benefit of low maintenance requirement when Accoya wood is used was appealing.
72m3 of 25mm x 100mm & 25mm x 150 mm of planed Accoya wood was placed on the upper part of the building giving a modern, natural look on the exterior.
