Accoya transforms outdated town hall built in the 80’s to become a model of sustainability thanks to Architectural firm De Twee Snoeken. The long lasting quality of Accoya plays a part in the circular economy, reducing the need for early replacement and protecting the forests resources. Accoya was the perfect choice for the building as there was no need to sacrifice performance with sustainability as with Accoya you can have the best of both worlds.
In order to achieve this light grey colour for the Accoya windows and doors they have been pre-greyed with a stain. The grand entrance canopy is also made from structural glulam Accoya helping it tie in nicely with the light wood colour of the rest of the building.
De Twee Snoeken made the exterior and interior design for an innovative House of the municipality of Voorst and the expectations of the municipality have been well and truly exceeded. Therefore, it only makes sense that this unique building has won the ARC22 Innovation Award.
