Rosecastle Joinery choose Accoya window frame

Camrose Chapel was in desperate need of a window upgrade as the softwood, pitch pine frame was in poor condition. In order to avoid replacing the window again, a long-lasting material needed to be considered, especially due to the intense labour that was required to create and install the frame.

Accoya seemed to be the perfect window material choice given the criteria for the upgrade as well as the fact that Rosecastle Joinery recommends Accoya wood for the vast majority of their projects. This is as a result of it being super stable, so the frame doesn’t swell or shrink in hot and cold climates, gives a great paint finish, machines well, and customers are big fans of the 50-year guarantee.

To complete the project, approximately 1 m3 of Accoya wood was used for the first-floor dome-shaped window. In order for the window frame to last as long as possible, Ankerstuy paint was used; supplied by Elmbridge UK  and applied by Rosecastle Joinery. In addition, the stained glass was sourced, cut, and supplied by local glass artist Rachel Phillips Glass.
