Scotford Sash installs Accoya sash and casement windows

Window Installers, Scotford and Sash, undertook a comprehensive renovation and draught proofing project for a beautiful country guest house’s front sash windows. The old pine sashes had deteriorated and were replaced with new Accoya sash windows.

Additionally, on the top floor front of the property, they installed new Accoya double glazed casement sashes in the existing frames, replacing poorly fitting, rotten, and draughty pitch pine lights. To ensure a high-quality finish, all new joinery, including the Accoya windows, were coated using Teknos paint, allowing the opportunity for customisation according to the client’s preferred colour choice.

In total, six complete casement windows, made from Accoya, were installed on the side and rear of the house.

Scotford Sash opted for Accoya timber for all window replacements and repairs due to its exceptional durability. The transient element of the pitch pine, helped make clear that a long-lasting solution that would stand the test of time was vital. This is where Accoya stands out, guaranteed to last 50 years, easily surpassing other timber options!

This project managed to address the structural and functional issues of the original windows but also enhanced the overall aesthetics of a house with a particularly rich history as well as improved energy efficiency of the building, so you can keep your energy bills low while keeping warm.
