Accoya Wooden Garage Doors
Sturdy and stylishAccoya is a durable, high-performance wood that makes an excellent choice for garage doors, offering reliable protection for your garage. It also brings aesthetic versatility, with a range of customisable designs to complement both your personal taste and your home’s exterior.
Highly stable
Accoya wood is highly resitant to water and so will shrink and swell much less, in comparison to other wood species. This means far less movement, keeping your wooden garage doors opening and closing effortlessly all year round.
Real wood
Accoya is real wood. It has been modified but only with naturally occuring chemicals to product a non-toxic solid timber.
Bespoke options
Accoya wood is highly durable and allows the flexibility to meet any design needs that suit your style or sizing.
Low maintenance
Less movement means lower maintenance. Whichever finish you choose, your Accoya wooden garage doors will remain in tact for years to come as it will not crack and split like it would on other wood species.

Wooden Garage doors for Carinya House
The homeowners used Accoya Approved Manufacturers, Against the Grain, for all elements of Accoya. This particular joinery company is located in Katoomba, New South Wales and has been using Accoya timber since 2013. They completed this project in February 2018.
A variation of colours has been used for the wooden garage doors. Accoya is the ideal material for coatings as it is so stable and the limited movement all year round will prevent coatings from deteriorating. The stability will also allow windows and doors to move freely as Accoya wood will shrink and swell much less than other wood species.
Coatings & Finishes
A fully factory coating is strongly recommended for Accoya wooden garage doors. A variety of colours and finishes have been tested by leading coating manufacturers with outstanding results. Some examples can be seen below but the possibilities are endless.

A garage that blends
The owners of this beautiful private residence have chosen a striking façade for their garage. The wooden garage doors are made from Accoya wood which has been left uncoated to reveal the natural light colouring of Accoya.
In complete contrast, the garage itself has been clad using charred Accoya. A traditional Shou Sugi Ban technique has been used to create a deep black burnt effect. The two varying finishes compliment each other well and show just how versatile Accoya is.
