Located in the English channel is the island of Guernsey. At the largest public park on the island, Sausmarez park, a brand new Accoya wood pavilion has been installed. This was a replacement pavilion as the previous one had begun to rot and become very unsafe for visitors.
This was a charity project, headed by the Rotary Club of Guernsey. They worked closely with Approved Manufacturers, Pauls’ Joinery, and together chose Accoya wood for the replacement pavilion. Accoya was chosen for its durability and stability, knowing it will stand the test of time.
Around 2.5m3 of Accoya was used to create all elements of the pavilion, except the roof shingles, which were made from Cedar.
Hybrid Wood Protector “Pure” by Rubio Monocoat was used to coat the Accoya wood.
