When Patrick and Jessica purchased their first family home in Southwest London they were sure of one thing, the whole property needed to undergo a major upgrade. Whilst they had big plans to extend the 3-story home and completely refurbish the property before they moved in, they also knew this was the only opportunity to replace the original rotting sash windows too.
In keeping with the style, the windows needed replacing like for like. This was a stipulation of their building permissions and would be checked by the local authority as the house was in a conservation area. The couple knew they wanted low maintenance, high performance timber sash windows, but they were quite nervous about the prospect of selecting the right timber for the job. And they soon realised windows were a very big expense in the overall budget of their building work – they were anxious to ensure they got it right.
