The Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam is one of the oldest botanic gardens in the world. JacBlom BV has been looking for an alternative to the current teak wood planters in use.
When a 400 year cycadee tree needed to be placed into a new planter, Accoya was the natural choice. Its decay resistance and sustainability credentials relative to teak, make it the ideal choice for this application.
Today, there are more than 4,000 plant species growing in the garden and greenhouses. Having seen the benefits Accoya offers, The Hortus has now set itself the goal of replacing all its planters over time with Accoya planters.
