Accoya in the Paperbark forest

At Herdsman Lake Regional Park, 8 kilometres from the central business district of Perth, WA, Accoya wood has been used for the Olive Seymour Boardwalk. The boardwalk surrounds the lake, approximately 10km long, through the Paperbark forest. The area gets its name from the surrounding trees, known as Paperbark trees and used by native Australians for 100s of years.

The boardwalk was previously made using Jarrah and in areas where it has begun to rot, Accoya wood has been installed. M&B sales have taken on this project and supplied the Accoya wood for decking boards, handrails and joists. Once completed, the project will be around 3km in length.

For joist fixings and handrail covers, stainless steel has been used.
