Accoya used for acoustic fencing outside Regents school

London

united kingdom

Accoya was chosen as the ideal product for the Regents School (formerly South Camden Community School) in Somers Town, London.

Architects Walters and Cohen were approached by Bam Construction to design a scheme for the co-educational secondary on a tight urban site. The fence utilised 2.4m high powder coated blunt top steel tubes for railings and a sheet metal gate. Accoya was selected due to its coping ability in the harshest weather conditions. Accoya is proven to be a sustainable, durable, and stable material, which is guaranteed against rot and decay for 50 years when used above ground and 25 years below ground.

Plus, CABE CABE awarded the scheme ‘Very Good’, the highest rating at the time (2015), and praised the ‘clever integration of old and new’. The project won a Camden Design Award in 2015 and has been shortlisted for a RIBA London Award in 2016.
