In collaboration with Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and Michel Desvigne, both internationally renowned landscapers, the Niwa real estate program (garden in Japanese) has just been opened, near Paris. This program was overseen by Bouygues Immobilier and Accoya wood was naturally chosen for the manufacture of pergolas and sunshades.
The program was spread over four fragmented levels, the higher the height, the more the facade, allowing the creation of large terraces with green spaces, offering visual breakthroughs on an interior Japanese garden.
The construction of this building was created with a reduced carbon footprint and the strong presence of plants and the installation of an automated pneumatic waste collection system contributed to the quality of this urban development. The choice of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials, for example Accoya. was also part of the specification.
The architect chose to apply a Teknos coating to the Accoya sunshades in order to keep its light shade and preserve it for a long time without distorting its feel and appearance. Used as a sunshade, it dresses the facades and gently lets in the light and the freshness in these apartments enjoying beautiful orientations. Also used as pergolas above the entrance porches, Accoya being light in colour gives a glimpse of the calmness of the interior garden while subtly shading it.
This project is a stunning example of good design and with the right materials they can work in harmony whilst having long lasting performance benefits.
