Generally problems occur with dark coatings on wood, due to shrink and swell being exasperated by the solar gain, especially in high UV-regions across the globe. Accoya’s superior dimensional stability negates this problem and maintenance intervals are dramatically extended.
Dark or black coated Accoya have been a popular choice with architects worldwide with several coating brands. This project was realised and has been performing for several years without the issues usually associated with other wood species.
