The Roche Diagnostics headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, was recently constructed. Batlleiroigs Architects decided that Accoya would be the best timber for the slates to create the façade of the building. This is because it outperforms even the most durable tropical hardwood cladding. The use of uncoated Accoya meant the architects managed to combine superior stability and durability with the beauty of natural wood, all while knowing it will perform for years to come. This is confirmed by the fact that the façade is covered by our guarantee against rot and decay for 50 years for exterior use above ground, not to mention Accoya’s world-leading sustainability credentials. The Accoya slats, which are 200×50 mm and have a total volume of 70m3, were distributed by Grupo Gámiz and installed in 2022 by Strunor.
