Manufactured by reSAWN TIMBER co. Accoya was chosen for the exterior siding on this residence located in a northwest suburb of Washington D.C.
Designed by Anne Decker Architects, Accoya was used to bring a unique and striking look to the private residence. A specific range of Accoya wood, MATSU Shou Sugi Ban, was selected for the project. This type of charred cladding is burnt on the visible side only and then sealed on its face and back.
For this project the siding measured 3-4” thick with a 5” tongue and groove width. The architects also selected Accoya thanks to its form stability, low maintenance and 50 year guarantee.
