Sustainable pod manufacturer, Armadilla, has fulfilled their largest school order for its Education Pods (EdPods). Travelling over 400 miles from Bonnyrigg on the outskirts of Edinburgh the specially-built EdPods are now providing new spaces at the Surrey County Council school for children and young people with complex social communication needs, Freemantles School in Woking, Surrey.
The statutory requirement to provide education to children of all abilities is increasing across the United Kingdom and the EdPods meet this need perfectly. The pods are designed with special educational needs in mind, however, they can provide schools with numerous uses. Examples include libraries, music rooms, relaxation areas, offices and much more. Furthermore, the pods are modular and can be manoeuvred within the school grounds if needed.
The six pods are all clad in Accoya wood, supplied by International Timber and the Accoya cladding was factory coated in various colours using Anker Stuy coatings. Sustainability is key to Armadilla which is why they exclusively use Accoya cladding for all their products. You can see one of their larger products, The Wave, here.
