Designed by Trevor Wilson (Architecture 37) and constructed by Harbour City Builders, Accoya was chosen for the cladding of this stunning Orewa beachfront home.

Distributed by Timspec, the Accoya profiles were created using a custom rusticated board with a bandsawn face, before being painted and finished using Resene Ironsand which provided the overall dark matt effect.

The bandsawn face shows off the bespoke natural wood grain of the Accoya wood, giving it a warm texture in comparison to the concrete. Because of Accoya’s improved stability, coatings such as this can last up to two times longer in comparison to other hardwoods.

As reported very positively by the homeowners; these Accoya weatherboards have endured the extreme heat of a New Zealand summer.
