Accoya was chosen as the perfect material to offer additional design and structural elements to help transform the redevelopment of Downtown Long Beach.
Founded in 1902 along the shoreline of South Ocean Boulevard, The Pike needed a new lease of life. The long awaited Pine Avenue Improvement Project began in 2014. Now completed, and renamed ‘The Outlets at the Pike’, Long Beach has successfully landed two large retail brands, Restoration Hardware and H&M.
The Accoya light poles were created and designed by Structura, as part of their Duo Horizontal Arm range. The light poles consisted of double aluminum extrusion uprights with Accoya wood center accents and a fixture arm. Structura chose Accoya as they believe in selecting the most durable materials and finishes to create products ‘that stand the test of time.’
With the help of P+R Architects who are now known as Retail Design Collaborative, The Pike has now been repositioned into a popular waterfront destination – a newly reinvented, vibrant shopping, dining and entertainment district, lining the Downtown Long Beach to Shoreline Village.
