Located in Austria’s second largest city, Graz, Accoya wood was specified by Fipe architects for their client, Creative Industries Styria/Stadt, for a parklet—a small seating area on a green public space.
The Accoya wood was supplied by Austrian distributor Hechenblaickner, and the parklet was manufactured by Tischlerei Steire-Hölz.

Inspiration
Fipe architects helped this piece of art come to life by using uncoated Accoya wooden planks, manufactured into curved, smooth battens, to create the wave effect for this stunning location. Although the natural beauty of the Accoya timber fits with the natural feature of the wave, the sustainability of Accoya also aligns with UNESCO’s pledge to respect our planet.
This public art/seating area is a wooden wave that inspires people within the city to surf without getting wet.
