For this private house in Delft, the Netherlands, architects Job Schroën and Mauric Bohle of September Architectuur used cross-laminated timber, allowing them to create a large space along the length of the house, with large openings from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, without the need of environmentally impactful materials, such as steel.
For the exterior façade of the house, Accoya wood was chosen. The Accoya is in the process of weathering naturally which will turn the cream colour of the Accoya wood into a beautiful platinum colour, blending in nicely with the surrounding landscape of the house.
