Located in Louvain-la-Neuve is the largest French-speaking university in Belgium; The Catholic University of Louvain (UCL). Built to house their university locations in Brussels, Charleroi, Mons, Tournai and Namur, UCL welcomes its students from many different locations. For UCL’s agricultural tower building, known as Les Serres, a renovation of the building’s cladding was needed.
Modulo architects chose Accoya wood as the perfect material because of its exceptional stability in all weather conditions, its industry-leading 50-year warranty and the sustainability credentials associated with it. Accoya wood was fire-treated for the building, keeping the students in a safe and sound environment.
