Accoya specified for decking around the new Oodi National Library in Helsinki, Finland

Accoya has been specified for the new 1100m² deck at the new National Library in Helsinki known as Oodi.

More than just a library, the forward thinking building is one of 37 branches of Helsinki City Library and forms part of the new cultural hub. A living meeting place in the heart of the city.

The deck is banked at both ends adding significant outdoor space to the new meeting space. The superior dimensional stability and durability of the Accoya wood means that the deck is able to withstand the harsh winter climate in Helsinki, when temperatures plummet the deck will remain stable and looking great through the seasons.

The Accoya deck is made with LIGO N hidden fastening decking system from Fixinggroup with 6mm gaps and finished with one coating of Teknos Woodex Aqua Woodoil, the tone developed and approved for the specific project in cooperation with the architects.
