One of the most unique buildings in the United Kingdom, the Belle Tout Lighthouse, is a hotel with a difference. Built in 1832 and decommissioned in 1902, it was once a tea-shop and a home, part-destroyed during the World War II and lovingly rebuilt in the 50's. As if all that wasn’t enough, Belle Tout was moved due to erosion and has recently been beautifully restored and renovated.
With 360 degree views of the English Channel, beautiful landscape, countryside and the enigmatic Seven Sisters, Belle Tout is a remarkable place and it was only right that the lighthouse should be restored using the very best materials available – including Accoya® wood 'A’ rated Energy Efficient windows with a 60 year life expectancy, provided by Westgate Joinery.
The renovation of Belle Tout was broadcast on Build a New Life on Channel 5 on Thursday the 21st January 2010. You can watch the programme online at http://demand.five.tv/Home.aspx
