EXPANDING THE RANGE WITH ACCOYA® ALDER

Accoya® Alder expands Accsys Technologies’ award-winning acetylation technology to a popular North American and European species. Like original Accoya® Radiata wood, Accoya® Alder undergoes a proprietary wood modification process that dramatically improves durability, hardness and dimensional stability while retaining the wood’s natural strength and beauty.

ACCOYA ALDER – DURABLE, STABLE AND BEAUTIFUL

Prior to its introduction, Accoya® Alder underwent several years of R&D, material testing and prototype trials, including as screens, doors, windows, flooring and outdoor furniture. Accoya® Alder offers a European durability Class 1 rating under EN 113:199 in Use Classes 1-4, with “4” including below-ground and water environments.  Accoya® Alder also has an 80% improvement in dimensional stability, retained strength and stiffness and a 30% higher Janka hardness than the pre-modified wood (tested in accordance with ASTMD143). Accoya® Alder carries a 50-year above-ground warranty and a 25-year below-ground warranty against rot and decay.

ACCOYA ALDER – IDEAL FOR CABINETRY, FLOORING, JOINERY AND OUTDOOR FURNITURE

Alder’s fine grain and medium tone have traditionally made it sought-after aesthetically for joinery applications such as interior doors, cabinetry, flooring, and moldings. With the improved durability, stability and hardness properties resulting from the application of the Accoya® Process, alder can now be used for a range of exterior products including screens, outdoor furniture, flooring, windows and doors.

ACCOYA ALDER – FSC CERTIFIED

The wood has impressive environmental credentials including its sourcing from legal, sustainable and FSC certified sources.
